Joel Mullner serves as the director of enrollment management and operations, and has been at Carlow University since 2017. In this role, he focuses on enrollment strategy, marketing, systems, and processes while overseeing the campus visit experience, operations, and traditional student admissions.
After graduating from Bethel Park Senior High School, Joel earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in business from John Carroll University in suburban Cleveland. During college, he was director of communications and vice president of student government, planned homecoming and the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, and joined an international social fraternity. He was a graduate assistant in student affairs when he caught the "bug" for higher education, and has never looked back.
Joel is excited to use his experience in enrollment management, event planning, marketing, financial aid, and technology to benefit an institution with a rich Catholic identity and Mercy heritage. He is #CarlowProud of our distinctive academic programs, unique location and setting, and the welcoming, hospitable nature of the campus community.
His advice for prospective students? Take some time and do some soul-searching. Think about what you want out of the college experience, how best you learn, and what type of environment is needed for you to thrive. Consider your interests as well as your natural abilities, and think about some possible careers. Craft your list of potential schools, and be sure to visit those campuses and ask a lot of questions. Ultimately, it's important to seek out a place that jives with your personal values, provides the rigor and support you need academically, encourages you to try new things and get involved, offers you an opportunity to gain practical experience while building your network, and allows you to stand out while being true to yourself.
