Biography

Dr. Wilsey holds a Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology (with a minor in Quantitative Research Methodology) from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Pre-Professional Psychology (with a minor in Music) from Geneva College. She has taught at the University of Pittsburgh, DeVry University, and Geneva College.

She was appointed to Dean of the College of Leadership and Social Change in February 2019. She served as Department Co-Chair/Program Director of Undergraduate Psychology for nearly a decade prior to that appointment. She has been a full professor of Psychology since 2017. Dr. Wilsey teaches courses in undergraduate and graduate programs in human development, research methods, community psychology, and research methods.

Her current research focuses on two areas: 1) college students' career and work-life choices, and 2) using experiential learning to promote community engagement among college students. Her previous experience as Director of the Carlow Compass curriculum has helped serve in her research. She received the Sisters of Mercy Award for Excellence in Advising in 2011.

Research Interests

Dr. Wilsey's research interests include emerging adulthood and vocational choice, experiential learning in higher education, work/family/school interface for adult learners, and community-based research as pedagogy.
